It’s been non-stop at Little Rascals since re-opening in February and we are continuing to improve all aspects of the Nursery. The Management Team are committed to an extensive development plan in our quest to become Outstanding and will see a number of positive changes over the weeks and months to come.
Based on feedback we have had from parents we have focused on a couple of things which are predominately going to move the Nursery forward in particular recruitment, staff and parent/nursery communication.
We have put together a monthly training plan, where we will focus on one or two specific elements per session to develop our staff’s skills and knowledge, beginning with a Baby Training session this week, which all our team will participate in.
Our levels of communication with our parents and carers can always be improved and we are making progress with updates via our website, Facebook page and the text messaging service to make you aware of those. We will also be starting a Parent Press newsletter, which will be sent via email, with the first one due to go out this week.
A big welcome…
As you may appreciate, finding a permanent manager who has the right experience, knowledge and drive to enhance the setting on an on-going basis is not an easy job.
Alice, who has been holding the position temporarily whilst we recruit, has done an amazing job but is now ready to step aside for our new Nursery Manager, Kirsty Kenny.
Kirsty has almost 10 years experience in child-care and has managed a setting successfully for 4 of those years. We wish Kirsty well in the new role and she will have full support from the management team.
Kirsty will be bringing a number of highly qualified and experienced members of staff to compliment the team and they all start with us this week and we look upon this as a hugely positive exercise for everyone.
We would also like to thank Alice for stepping into the role. We feel she has done a great job in the interim and will continue to assist Kirsty to help settle her in.
It is with real regret that we are saying goodbye to one of our team this month. Hannah, who has been leading our pre-school room, has decided to leave us to take on a Room Leader role in another setting.
This was a hard decision for Hannah, but feels that the move will mean she can progress her career into a senior management position with more of a focus on training & development.
As a family, we have known Hannah for well over 10 years and she leaves with our very best wishes. Hannah’s last day was due to be Tuesday this week, but unfortunately, due to illness, she will not be returning before starting her new job.
We have continued to work with Ofsted over the last few weeks following specific action plans that we have set ourselves to address areas that Ofsted feel we can improve.
An Ofsted inspector came to visit us a couple of weeks ago to see our progress and was again pleased with the further improvements we have been making.
We would also like to thank our parents, as always, we are extremely appreciative of your continued support and we will continue to improve and grow as we aspire to be the top early years childcare provider in Preston.
