Some New Faces in Nursery

You may be aware that some of our Practitioners, including Team Leaders are expecting their own babies at the end of this year and we are currently undergoing a recruitment programme to take on qualified, experienced members of staff to replace them. Angela, Jade, Jess, Nicola and Alice are all expecting their own little bundles of fun!

You will have already seen two new faces, Ruth Van Rompay who is a Nursery Assistant covering a small number of hours for us each week, she has worked in a child orientated environment for many years and has delivered Safeguarding training for the past 2. In addition to that Nicola Bryant has started with us this week on a trial basis, she has relocated from the south and has vast amounts of childcare experience. She is a qualified level 3 practitioner who also has Safeguarding Level 2 and Paediatric First Aid. Both Ruth and Nicola have been appointed to accommodate the increase in registered children and not to replace any current staff.

Our next lot of new starters begins w/c 12th October; when we have a new Team Leader starting, Gail Pye. She will be overseeing both Tiny Tigers and Toddling Turtles. She is a highly qualified, mature practitioner who comes from a Nursery who has received an Outstanding judgement during their last 2 inspections and the most recent being April of this year.   She has been in childcare for over 20 years and we are confident that she will be a real asset to the Nursery.

Our new cook also starts on the 12th October and has been in her previous Nursery for the past 13 years.   There will be more of a choice available to children at snack times, along with food from around the world and children’s choice on certain days.

We are planning on moving Hayley from Pre-school for her to replace Angela in Eager Elephants and to support the already fabulous team who are currently in that room.

The only sadness in the current changes and development is that Laura (Toddling Turtles) has decided to move to Edinburgh to start a brand new life near to her family. Although we will be very sad to see Laura go, we wish her every success in her new adventure.

Please look out for the new display being put up in reception which will help you to understand the changes.

For those children whose keyworkers will be leaving there will be a period of transition where you and your child will be introduced to the new keyworker and they will work alongside each other to ensure that we meet your needs and that of your child.
