Our Menu

In 2017 in partnership with the British Nutrition Foundation, the UK Government introduced guidelines for Healthy Eating in the Early Years sector.  We have adopted these guidelines offering a balanced diet covering all five food groups.

Our menus work on a 5 weekly rota; 1 to 4 have a variety of home cooked, nutritional meals with week 5 being our Taste of the World Week.   With the help of our parents week 5 offers the children a variety of traditional starters, mains and desserts from around the World.

Below is an example of a typical weekly menu:

It’s vitally important that children eat well in early life, not only to provide them with the nutrients they need to grow and develop but also for their lifelong health. With almost a quarter of children starting school overweight or obese, children’s health in the early years needs to be a key focus in tackling the obesity epidemic.

We welcome the guidance published, especially as the Foundation is a partner in the Early Years Nutrition Partnership, which provides support on food and nutrition practice in early years settings.
